The Jewish Music Institute's (JMI) newest venture, Nu? Musik!, is for young musicians who want to get into Jewish roots music and create their own fusions of Jewish music with other styles - from rock to pop, from house to hip hop, from punk to jazz. Nu? Musik! opens up the world of New Jewish music to people from all backgrounds and ages and widens audiences for Jewish music. The Nu? Musik! Project includes a range of activities, services and events to meet these aims. The Nu? Musik! Magazine highlights some of the best Nu? Musik! acts from around the world and will keep you up to date with the latest tracks and bands on the scene. |

Unfortunately, we have had to postpone our Nu? Musik! workshop series until later this year. If you would like information on the new dates for the workshops and would like to take part, please contact Laoise. |

| We have lots of other Nu? Musik! activities planned. This summer we hope to start a series of Jam sessions, where anyone can bring an instrument and try improvising using Jewish themes over modern break beats, house beats or rock beats. Or if you are in a band who performs New Jewish Music, then these Jams will be a great platform for you to get started. There are also Nu? Musik! workshops at JMI's world reknown KlezFest with DJ Socalled, David Krakauer and Frank London! | ||
| Future plans include a massive competition to find the band or artist with the biggest "Oy Factor". So book on to the workshops today and start writing some great Jewish roots music! | ||
